A softer surface, and what it is for
Bamboo-fibre blends produce a woven band that is softer against skin than a synthetic strap and less formal than a moulded one. Properties choose it where the credential is worn continuously and where the guest should not be reminded that they are wearing a piece of access hardware.
It is a comfort decision before it is a materials decision, and it is worth being honest about that: the reason to specify it is how it feels on night four, not what it signals on a website.
The claim needs to describe the blend
These are blends, and the proportions matter to anyone who asks. A statement should describe the supplied blend as produced for the run rather than repeat a material name, and it should say separately that the sealed module is an electronic component the material statement does not cover.
We issue a material declaration against the production run for that reason. A property quoting a document about its own goods is in a far stronger position than one repeating a category description.
Where the module sits
The credential is sealed as a component before it is assembled into the band, so it is not relying on the fabric for protection. That matters because woven materials wick: the strap will get wet and stay wet longer than a moulded band, and the credential has to be indifferent to that.
It also means the failure mode is benign. The strap ages visibly while the credential keeps working, which gives a property warning rather than a surprise.
Closure by population
An adjustable slider suits residents; a one-way closure suits any population where transfer is the risk being controlled. Woven bands are a poor fit for children, where a closed-loop moulded band is both safer and more practical.
Where a property wants one visual family across all its populations, keep the woven band for adult residents and use a different construction from the same artwork family elsewhere.

When to choose something else
Where guests are in water for hours daily, a band that holds water is less pleasant than one that sheds it, and silicone is the better answer. Where the credential must be tamper-resistant, a one-way woven band works but a reinforced moulded one works better.
And where the property wants a visible material statement rather than a comfortable band, a wood or cork face communicates it more directly than a woven blend does.
Minimum order is 500 pieces per artwork, with 14–21 days production after artwork approval. A colour variant is a separate count and, on a blended yarn, a separate colour approval as well.
