Comfort first, claim second

Cotton-based bands are chosen because they are the softest thing a property can put on a guest’s wrist for a week. That is the operating reason, and it is a good one.

The materials claim is a separate matter, and it is narrower than most properties assume: organic describes how the fibre was grown, not the dye, the finishing, the closure or the sealed module. Writing at that level is what makes a statement defensible.

What the documentation actually covers

Evidence generally exists at the yarn or fabric stage. It rarely exists for the finished band, because the band is an assembly from several sources. A claim written at the level of the strap is usually exactly supported; the same claim written at the level of the band never is.

We issue material declarations against the production run so the property is describing its own goods rather than a product line, and so a question asked a year later can be answered by naming the run.

Dye is a comfort decision too

Dye affects how the band feels, how it behaves wet, and how it ages against sun and treatment oils. A pale cotton band in a spa environment discolours from oils long before it wears out, which is an appearance problem rather than a documentation one.

For spa and pool-adjacent programmes we specify mid or dark tones for that reason, and keep pale cotton for dry-zone or short-stay use.

Wear, cleaning and reissue

Cotton softens with wear, which is part of why guests accept it, and it takes up what it touches — oils, sunscreen, treatment products. That makes it a poor choice for a credential recovered and reissued between guests, and a good one for a band issued for a stay.

Where a property does want to recover and clean credentials between guests, a closed-surface construction is the right answer and cotton is not.

The statement we would write

Name the strap fibre and its run-level documentation. State separately that the module is an electronic component not covered by it. Describe a disposal route only if one exists with a person assigned to it. Say nothing about the finished band as a whole.

It is longer than a marketing line and it reads as competence to the guests who actually read it.

Minimum order and lead time

Minimum order is 500 pieces per artwork, with 14–21 days production after artwork approval. A second colour is a separate count and a separate colour approval.
